Swimrun and Open Water Swimming

Swimrun and open water swimming

In the land of thousands of lakes, swimming should not only be a basic skill for everyone, but also a meaningful way to move outdoors, on trips and to maintain or improve fitness. Swimming in natural waters is a very experiential and adventurous outdoor exercise, and it does not require that the participant has a competitive swimming or triathlete background.

Swimrun combines swimming and running, so you get around faster and the alternating swimming and running sections rhythm the progress. In Nuuksio, swimrun has been practiced long before the term was invented. After all, taking a dip in one of the area’s many small lakes and swimming to the other side is an idea that every runner gets during trail runs in Nuuksio on hot summer days.
